What's this?!

11/03/2024 - IMPORTANT NOTICE

(11/12/2024 - small update)

Hi there! Your visit is really, really appreciated!

Unfortunately, this website will eventually be shut down, since the project itself is going through a huge, huge metamorphosis. I am saying that because it's not necessarily cancelled or anything - noting that some concepts I had for this project could carry over to it's new form -, but given everything that has happened to me over the course of past 12+ months, I am no longer in the right mental state to continue trying working on the game as it's currently presented.

I will share more details on what's been going on and what lead to making this decision some time in the future, but that's the shortest summary of the reasoning I can provide.

I will be posting about it on my personal BlueSky and Mastodon profiles and this game's Steam News and Indie DB pages.

Please note that this game's Steam page could get a MASSIVE makeover to reflect on the project's metamorphosis after having a conversation with Valve about it. The game's Indie DB page may eventually have to be retired, too. But I will leave a notice prior to a time when I'll actually do it.

In the meantime, you may snoop around the "replacement project's" Game Jolt and itch pages. Or proceed to it's website that is now in construction as of this notice's editing time.

To some of you folks who have been genuinely looking forward to Stramedia: Injury Plateau, I sincerely apologize that this has come to this. That decision was not taken lightly, so I could prioritize improving my mental health as I am planning things out for the game's new form, so I don't go clinically insane after when I start it's production.

Stramedia was originally supposed to be nothing more of a study project, and as long as I've spent working on it, I've already managed to learn A LOT. And I don't just mean learning new skills, getting comfortable with exploring different development tools, and improving on my craft - these bits are, without a doubt, some stuff I am extremely proud of - but as I was working on this thing and going overboard, I also learned things that I should and should NOT be doing.

If I am not able to show off what I've learned over the past decade of my life through Stramedia - as a finished product, I might as well do that through a different game where you would have to walk through a literal Human Wasteyard instead, hopefully with a much cleaner and stable state of mind.

Thank you for your understanding.

I will be back with you shortly, hopefully not for very long now.

Content Warning

Despite the pixelated/cartoony visuals and occasional goofiness of Stramedia: Injury Plateau,
the game contains visual depictions of graphic violence with occasional dismemberment, use of strong language (although the player can turn it off in the Preferences settings menu), depictions of/references to several heavy subjects, mature themes and other contents that may not be suitable for some audiences.

Welcome to Stramedia, based in Mt. Injury Plateau, or so it's called right now after you and your classmates' school trip went south. Make your hard calls if needed, as long as you get out of here safe and sound.

About the Game

Stramedia: Injury Plateau is an indie horror themed adventure game where you step into the shoes of Nathan Philips, the class president and warden who accepted an invitation offer to what soon transformed to be the most bizarre and the most deadly school trip tour in his and his classmates' lives due to a, uh... a teeny-tiny little containment incident.

And now, it is believed that everybody is dead.

...Or, so Nathan believes.

Well, now, he has no other choice, but do whatever it takes to safely get out of the safehouse facility - the ironic certain death trap - while also retaining what remains of his mental health.
...or get to the thick of it. Who knows! Nathan and, potentially, the other fellas you might get to play as don't really get to decide what they do, because YOU are the one who gets to decide how the game ends!

Though, with the situation worsening every hour as the entire facility is being overrun with 'monsters' on the loose, their time for a swift, easy escape is limited.

Features!

(AKA: The Crucial Bulletpoints highlighting the best stuff that make this game worth checking out and/or purchasing!)

Many ways to play the game!

-Story Campaign
Your goal is simple! Get your ass out of Stramedia back to safety! Solve puzzles, unearth the nasty secrets of the government-owned facility, find keys to reactivate the facility sectors containing all components required for you to escape, put your minimal stealth skills and patience to test as you avoid being hunted down by whatever lurks within Stramedia... or, y'know, just gun them all down, if you have the right firearm. Just because you're not American, it doesn't mean you can't at least give it a shot. (...pun is unintentional)

-Time Attack
What? You thought what you had presented at first hand in the story campaign was legit worth a speedrun? I am sorry, you can absolutely do it again, but at max speed!

-Labor Survivor
Having been employed by Stramedia Safety Enbranchment GOE, you need to get through your first month at work alive while performing your usual mundane tasks, like cleaning the hallways, making sure the power is still running, feeding the... uh... wait, what even IS THAT thing, anyway??

- and more!

STEAM DECK & CONTROLLER SUPPORT

Stramedia: Injury Plateau is developed with gamepad and Steam Deck support in mind! In most cases, you won't have to run third-party XINPUT gamepad interface emulation programs (e.g. DS4Windows), as the game already natively supports the following types of game controllers:

* Some controllers may have to use Steam Input (or any other XINPUT gamepad interface input emulation software) in order to be fully recognized as a "gamepad".
